Hi there! Welcome to where you can learn all about the many sides of me…
I’m Michela and just if you’re wondering, that’s pronounced like mih~keh~luh. I know my name is not Mary, which could be confusing, so if you want to know where I got the inspiration of my blog name from, just click here: https://airplanemary.com/the-name/
I am 20 years old and currently studying my butt off as an undergrad at Florida State University, while simultaneously pursuing as many dreams as possible (including this blog!). I am a History major and minoring in Italian and Hospitality Management (I like to cover my bases).
The first question I get after I answer the question “What’s your major?” is “Oh, what do you want to do with that? Be a teacher?” And in a way yes, I do want to be a teacher. But not in a classroom. I want to share my passions with as many people as I can to inspire learning, cultural engagement and confidence!
I love learning about history, no matter where it is in the world (but especially Europe!). However, my favorite part of history is the idea of humanizing it. I love the personal narratives underneath the pages of a cut-and-dry textbook. That’s a huge part of what inspires me to travel – sharing the history of people and places so that I and others can learn from what the world has to offer.
However, because I am in college, I can’t really step away from my studies right now to do what I want this blog to be about – travel. So in the meantime, I am going to talk about other things in my life in addition to traveling – Disney, College, Beauty, etc.
I grew up in Chicago but in 2009, my family and I made the move to Florida and did so for one huge reason – to come to Disney World all of the time. Our first trip was when I was two years old and since then we have come back at least once every year. Now, we average about five full vacations a year because of how close we are! Surely we have stayed at Disney more than 100 times, maybe more than 200 or 300 by now. We love Disney more than anything – to us, Disney is not just theme parks, it is literally our lifestyle. Being an Annual Passholder, a Disney Vacation Club Member and someone who has been visiting for 17 years, I’m hoping I have some unique and helpful insight into what makes me keep coming back. My dream is to work for this company, so um, Bob Iger if you’re reading this, I’m ready for a job!
I have one other super significant passion – photography. The technical side, the artsy side, everything about taking a photo inspires me to be a better creator. Check out my portfolios while you are here and feel free to ask me any questions about my shots because *disclaimer* all photos are mine!
I’m so excited to share all sorts of different sides of me! I have never felt comfortable being put in a box and not able to do my own thing. So, here’s to creating our own path! Let’s fly together ♥
